Collective Worship is a valued part of daily life at Spofforth CofE Primary School, providing a calm and purposeful time for the whole school community to come together, reflect, and connect. Through these shared moments, we encourage children to think about important values such as kindness, respect, perseverance, and responsibility, helping them to grow as individuals and contribute positively to the world around them. Each half term, we explore a key value alongside British Values and significant times of the year, creating meaningful opportunities for discussion and reflection.
Our Worship Team plays an active role in shaping this experience, helping to plan, prepare, and occasionally lead worship, as well as writing prayers and setting up the space—giving children a real sense of ownership and pride. We ensure that all worship is inclusive and accessible, so that everyone feels comfortable, respected, and able to take part.
We warmly welcome governors, parents, and members of the wider community to join us, in our sharing assemblies where we celebrate achievements and recognise the ways in which our children demonstrate our shared values and truly shine.
